POSITION DESCRIPTION

Willie Weston is a small but growing profit-for-purpose fabric and wallpaper brand, working with First Nations artists across Australia to offer a range of commercial fabrics and wallpapers. Our mission is to support the integration of First Nations design into the built environment.

We have an exciting opportunity for a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to join us in advancing the Willie Weston brand through the development and maintenance of new and existing relationships with architecture and design firms across Australia. We require someone who is self-motivated, adaptable and passionate about working for a small, purpose-driven brand with great growth potential.

Why join Willie Weston?

Willie Weston occupies a unique position within the Australian commercial textiles sector. Whilst most brands in this market are large, established businesses with decades of history, Willie Weston has been operating for just under 10 years. In the years since the brand was launched, the A&D sector has begun to understand the value of incorporating First Nations design into the built environment. Willie Weston has achieved significant growth in that time, by offering sophisticated, high-quality products produced to strict ethical standards.

However, we are a very small team, focused on innovative products and scalable impacts for First Nations artists. The successful candidate for this role will be excited by the prospect of proactively growing sales for a small dynamic brand with these values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and establish new A&D relationships with top tier architects and designers

  • Proactively enhance established A&D relationships with top tier architects and designers

  • Prepare, book and deliver product presentations to the A&D community, predominantly in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra, but also in other capital cities (except WA) as required

  • Coordinate and monitor sample, pricing and information requests, including use of our CRM platform

  • Follow up on outstanding quotes and leads

  • Achieve quarterly sales and KPI targets

KEY STRENGTHS / SKILLS

  • Knowledge of, and experience working in, the A&D sector

  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role, ideally in the commercial textile industry

  • Interest in learning about First Nations artists and stories, and ability to communicate this content and Willie Weston’s ethical brand values to clients

  • Ability to nurture and develop relationships, with a strong dedication to being responsive, resourceful and consistently following up on leads

  • Self-motivated and goal oriented, with a tenacious, proactive approach to achieving sales targets

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects

  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills

  • Flexible, can-do attitude and ideally experience working in a small business

  • Professional, articulate and friendly communicator

  • Proficient use of Lead Management software

  • Applicants with full Drivers Licence preferred

Apply by submitting a current CV and an Expression of Interest to jessica@willieweston.com outlining your relevant experience and why you’d be great for this role. We look forward to hearing from you!

First Nations applicants encouraged to apply.
