Leanne Black

Leanne is an emerging artist from Peppimenarti (NT), working mainly in screen printing. Like many artists from this region, she references durrmu (dot body painting) designs in her work.

Leanne’s design for our Durrmu Collection is called Durrmu (LB). Durrmu (LB) represents traditional body painting designs applied to male and female faces and torsos for ceremonial dance. The dots are referred to as durrmu - which also means painting.
